South Dakota Highway Patrol identifies man killed in I-29 crash near Flandreau

BROOKINGS, S.D.–The South Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of a man killed over the weekend in a crash on Interstate 29 in Moody County.

Sixty year-old Kasper Malsam of Renner died when the northbound pickup he was driving left the highway, went thru the median and rolled.

Malsam was ejected from the pickup and thrown onto the southbound lanes of traffic where he was struck by an SUV.

An 11 year-old girl in the pickup sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the SUV was not injured.

The crash happened Saturday morning seven miles west of Flandreau.
