WATERTOWN, S.D.–The targeted completion date for a major road construction project in Watertown has been pushed back about two weeks.

U.S. Highway 212 is getting a total re-build between the Highway 81 intersection and 19th Street Southeast.

South Dakota Department of Transportation Engineer Bryce Olson says the targeted completion date had been October 28th, but that’s now been pushed back to November 15th.

In addition to a new concrete highway being built, the project includes new sidewalks, signal lights, street lights and improved drainage.

J & J Earthworks of Milbank is the prime contractor on the $12.7 million project.
