South Dakota DCI investigating death of inmate at Women’s Prison in Pierre

PIERRE, S.D.–The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the death of an inmate at the South Dakota Women’s Prison in Pierre.
Thirty two year-old Abby Hall was found unresponsive in a bathroom at the prison on Tuesday.
She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Hall was serving time in prison for unauthorized ingestion of a controlled substance from Codington County and Brookings County and a sentence for possession of a controlled substance from Minnehaha County.
