ABERDEEN, S.D.–A whopper of a snowstorm is shutting down schools, colleges, government offices and travel across North Dakota.

Blizzard Warnings have been issued for a large part of that state. They extend into far northwestern South Dakota, to include the counties of Harding, Perkins, Campbell and Corson.

Forecaster Amy Parkin  at the Aberdeen National Weather Service office says only a small part of South Dakota is being impacted by the storm…

Parkin says those winds will pack quite a punch the next few days…

And it’ll stay cold for awhile…

Some locations in North Dakota could get three feet of snow by Thursday.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation has closed Interstate 94, both east and westbound, from Jamestown to the Montana line.
