Softball closer to being sanctioned in South Dakota

PIERRE, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — High school softball is closer to being a sanctioned sport in South Dakota.
The South Dakota High School Activities Association approved the formation of a steering committee to begin the process of sanctioning the sport at their April meeting. Currently, South Dakota is the only state in the country who does not sanction softball. State Commissioner of USA Softball South Dakota Gary Young says it’s been a long road to get to this point:

The steering committee is expected to draft a handbook and deliver it to the SDHSAA Board of Directors by August 2021.
