WATERTOWN, S.D.–The Watertown City Council has approved a resolution allowing soft re-openings of the Prairie Lakes Wellness Center and Bramble Park Zoo, which have both been closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Park and Rec Superintendent Terry Kelly says the wellness center re-opening will include some cardio equipment and the walking track. He says the indoor pool will NOT be part of the re-opening….
Kelly says they’ll limit the number of people allowed in the wellness center, and this time of the year, that shouldn’t be difficult to do…
Kelly was asked why tennis courts were allowed to re-open last week, but softball and baseball fields remain closed….
The vote to re-open was 9-0.
The wellness center will re-open at 5 a.m. Wednesday, but the zoo might not re-open until next week.
