WATERTOWN, S.D.–Millions of Americans have travel plans for the Christmas holiday over the next few days. Most of them will be driving to their holiday destinations, and in some cases, like here in the upper Midwest, travel conditions will not be good at all.

In northeastern South Dakota, its been snowing since early this morning, and that’ll continue through the day today…

Forecaster Ryan Lueck says the winds ramp up on Thursday, and that’s when blowing snow becomes a problem for travelers….

This is a large storm system that will impact multiple states in the Midwest…

Lueck says wind chill values Thursday into Saturday will be a major factor too…

The immediate Watertown area is under a Wind Chill Warning from six tonight thru Noon Saturday, and a Winter Storm Watch is now in effect from Thursday morning thru late Friday night.
