Small town South Dakota cafe worker tests positive for COVID-19, may have infected others

PIERRE, S.D. – State Health officials announced today that a worker at the Lane Café in Lane, South Dakota has tested positive COVID-19.

The individual reported working April 1st through April 4th while able to transmit the virus to others.

Due to the risk of exposure, customers who visited the café during those dates should monitor for symptoms for 14 days after the date they visited.

Lane is a small town in Jerauld County, located between Woonsocket and Wessington Springs. Its population in the 2010 census was 59. 

Jerauld County reported its first positive case of COVID-19 on Thursday, one of 447 cases that have been reported statewide.
