WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown will be served by two commercial airlines come July 1st.

SkyWest Airlines–flying as United Express–lost the Essential Air Service contract to serve Watertown, but they’ll keep flying in and out of the city without a federal subsidy.

SkyWest said in a news release Wednesday that, “customers can continue to book SkyWest/United Airlines with confidence beyond June 30th.”

The latest two-year Essential Air Service Contract went to Denver Air Connection.

Both airlines will have non-stop jet service from Watertown to Chicago O’Hare and Denver International.
