Sisseton woman found not guilty of theft from tribe

SIOUX FALLS – United States Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell announced that a Sisseton woman was acquitted of Theft from an Indian Tribal Organization following a federal jury trial in Aberdeen, South Dakota, on November 12-14, 2024.
Thirty six year-old Diahna Rose Kirk was indicted by a federal grand jury in May 2024.
The charge related to the alleged embezzlement of money by Kirk belonging to the Sisseton- Wahpeton Oyate Fuel Incorporated, which is an Indian tribal organization.
The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the FBI. The U.S. Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case.
