Singer-songwriter John Prine dead of COVID-19

UNDATED (AP) – John Prine, the ingenious singer-songwriter who explored the heartbreaks, indignities and absurdities of everyday life in “Angel from Montgomery,” “Sam Stone,” “Hello in There” and scores of other indelible tunes, has died. He was 73 – and his family says he died from complications from the coronavirus. Last month his wife said she had tested positive for COVID-19. She has since recovered but her husband was hospitalized last month with coronavirus symptoms. He was put on a ventilator and was in the intensive care unit for several days.
