WATERTOWN, S.D.–Codington County Sheriff Brad Howell is working on a plan to get a school resource officer into schools in rural parts of the county this fall…..
The sheriff’s department recently received approval from the county commission to apply for a federal COPS grant, which would fund the SRO position for three years…
Howell says the SRO would also give the sheriff’s department more help outside the school year….
Howell says they’ll find out this summer if their grant application was successful.
