WATERTOWN, S.D.–Tuesday is Primary Election Day in South Dakota.

While questions of election integrity have been raised nationally, it has not been much of an issue in South Dakota.

KWAT News talked with the  state’s chief election officer, Secretary of State Steve Barnett…

Barnett says two years ago, a record-high number of South Dakotans were casting absentee ballots because of COVID-19, but not this year…

Barnett says those poll workers are the unsung heroes of any election…

Statewide races on Tuesday’s ballot include Republican primaries for governor, U.S. House and U.S. Senate.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Complete election results can be heard Tuesday night on the group of six Watertown Radio stations.
