SDHSAA to meet this Friday

PIERRE, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The Board of Directors of the South Dakota High School Activities Association will hold a special meeting on Friday, December 18th.

One item on the agenda is the consideration request from Estelline High School regarding out of state open enrollments for students involved in multi-state sports cooperative.

In a letter to the activities association, Estelline Superintendent Dr. Eric Bass requests the board to wave the restriction preventing students from their Co-op partner, Hendricks, Minnesota,  from open enrolling to Estelline and competing in winter and spring sports.  Dr. Bass says currently students attending Hendricks are not allowed to participate in Estelline programs due to current Minnesota COVID-19 restrictions.

The Board of Directors will take up the issue beginning at 10 a.m. this Friday.
