SDHSAA approves contact recommendations for summer 2020

PIERRE, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The South Dakota High School Activities Association Board of Directors held a special meeting on May 28th.  On the agenda was contact recommendations for the summer of 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Assistant Executive Director of the SDHSAA Dr. John Krogstrand tells us how these recommendations came to fruition:

The guidance is in effect through July 31 and is divided into three phases depending on the amount of COVID-19 cases in a school’s particular area.  Krogstrand talks about those phases.

Will fall sports take place this year? Krogstrand says right now, its a wait and see approach.
