SDHP investigating two fatal crashes

PIERRE, S.D.–The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating separate accidents that left two people dead on Friday.

The first crash occurred early Friday morning, 13 miles south of Gregory.

A pickup was eastbound when it left a road, went into a ditch and rolled. The 22 year-old man driving was dead at the scene.

The second crash happened Friday afternoon, one mile south of Huron.

A car and pickup collided at a Highway 37 intersection when the pickup ran a stop sign.

The drivers of the two vehicles were both taken to Huron Hospital. The 22 year-old man driving the car died from his injuries.

The 65 year-old man driving the pickup sustained serious injuries.

Names of those involved in the two crashes have not been released.
