School year begins at LATC today; Cartney says enrollment of 2,700 possible (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Another school year at Lake Area Technical College begins today.
President MIke Cartney says because of everything they went though last year, they’re better prepared to deal with whatever the coronavirus may throw their way…
LATC students will be in demand when they graduate, with many employers having trouble filling job openings…
As far as enrollment numbers go, Cartney says they were at 2,642 students last year. He says it could go higher this year…
Cartney says they’ll begin the school year today with face coverings being “optional” for students and staff.
