WATERTOWN, S.D.–A scare Thursday afternoon on Lake Poinsett.

Codington County Search and Rescue was dispatched to the lake on a report of an unoccupied jet ski floating in the lake.

Hamlin County Emergency Manager Dave Schaefer says as it turns out, two people had been on the jet ski and fell off.

He says wind and wave action pushed the jet ski away from those two people, and they were unable to get back on it.

However, they were rescued by another boater on the lake. Both were wearing life jackets.

Search and Rescue personnel got about half way there before they were told their services were no longer needed.
