SATURDAY UPDATE: South Dakota COVID-19 count climbs to 1,542

PIERRE, S.D.–The South Dakota Health Department reported Saturday the state’s cumulative total of COVID-19 cases has increased to 1, 542. 

That’s an increase of 131 cases from the previous day. Most of the new cases, 119 of them, were in Minnehaha County, where the total count is 1,276 cases. 

The Health Department says 10,118 South Dakotans have tested negative for the virus, and 68 people have required hospitalization. Another 552 people are considered recovered.

Codington County reports 13 cases, which is unchanged. Eleven of those people have recovered.
