Rollover crash on Interstate 29 kills driver

ELK POINT, S.D. – A 54 year-old man died Thursday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash six miles north of Elk Point in Union County.

The name of the person involved is not being released pending notification of family members.

The man was southbound on Interstate 29 in a vehicle that entered the median. The driver overcorrected, the vehicle went across both southbound lanes, into the west ditch and rolled.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt, and was thrown from the vehicle. He was flown to a Sioux City hospital where he was pronounced dead.
