UNDATED–South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is going to work for President-elect Donald Trump.
Several national media outlets are reporting Noem has been chosen to be Trump’s new Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
DHS has a $60 billion budget and oversees everything from US Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the U.S. Secret Service, which received heavy criticism following a failed assassination attempt on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Governor Noem has been an outspoken supporter of Trump, and was on his short list to be his vice presidential pick, a job that went to Ohio Senator J.D. Vance.
