PIERRE, S.D.–For the past couple of legislative sessions, South Dakota legislators have allowed remote testimony because of the coronavirus pandemic.

But that practice might be coming to an end and revert to all in-person testimony.

Several legislators and lobbyists have been unhappy with remote testimony.

They say that it often injected witnesses into the legislative process who weren’t from South Dakota and did not have any “skin in the game” concerning the impact of the legislation.
