Recreational marijuana supporters announce SD tour in support of IM 27 (Audio)

October 13, 2022
SIOUX FALLS, S.D.–Supporters of the recreational marijuana issue on the November ballot in South Dakota (Initiated Measure 27), have announced plans for a statewide tour to drum up support for the question, and encourage people to register to vote.
Matthew Schweich is director of the group, “South Dakotans for Better Marijuana Laws.” He gave details on the tour, which starts this weekend…
Initiated Measure 27, if approved, would allow South Dakotans to legally possess an ounce or less of marijuana, and distribute an ounce or less.
South Dakota voters approved recreational marijuana in a 2000 vote that appeared as Amendment A on the ballot, but the South Dakota Supreme Court later ruled the ballot question was unconstitutional, nullifying the results of the vote.
