MINNEAPOLIS, M.N. (GoWatertown.net) — The Southern Plains Football League held their annual Winter Pigskin Classic October 19th through the 20th.

The Watertown Rebels came away with a 32-8 victory over the Golden Hawks Saturday at US Bank Stadium.  Albert Lea Grizzlies and the North Iowa Bucks combined to form the Golden Hawks during the the classic.

The Watertown Rebels finished their regular season with a 7-1 record and fell in the Southern Plains Football League championship game July 27th to the Sioux Empire Crusaders, 42-33.

In it’s 6th season, the Pigskin Classic hosts 26 adult amateur/semi-pro teams over two days.
