PIERRE, S.D.–South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg has pleaded not guilty to charges in connection to a September 2020 vehicle-pedestrian crash that killed 55 year-old Joseph Boever of Highmore.

Ravnsborg’s attorney Tim Rensch of Rapid City entered an advisement of rights statement and presented it to retired Circuit Judge John Brown curing a court appearance in Pierre on Friday..…

Rensch says there is a lot of evidence to look at in the case…

Hyde County Deputy States Attorney Emily Sovell agreed to the 60 day status hearing request. That would put the next court date in the case sometime in mid-May.

Members of Boever’s family were present in the courtroom.

Ravnsborg is facing calls for his resignation from Republican Gov. Kristi Noem and law enforcement groups.
