PREVIEW: South Dakota State men and women at Summit League Tournament

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The Summit League Basketball Tournament opens play this weekend at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls.

South Dakota State (27-4, 18-0) became the first men’s team in league history to go unbeaten in regular-season action to earn the number one seed.

Jackrabbit Coach Eric Henderson says the team is excited for the opportunity to improve on the success of the regular season:

SDSU will face the eight seed Omaha in the opening round of the Summit Tournament at 6 p.m. Saturday. The Jacks have two wins over the Mavericks this season. Coach Henderson says he expects Omaha to continue to play with a great pace:

The South Dakota State (21-8, 17-1) women captured a share of the regular-season title and are the one seed at the Summit Tournament.

The Jacks will head into the tournament without Paige Meyer. Haley Greer and Lindsey Theuninck will step into the guard role this weekend. Coach Aaron Johnston says the Jacks are lucky to have that kind of experience stepping up:
