SIOUX FALLS, S.D.–On Wednesday, a public meeting was hosted by the United States Postal Service to provide more information on their “Delivering for America” ten-year plan and how it would impact the Sioux Falls region.

The meeting was well-attended. There were around 70 postal workers and business owners from Sioux Falls and surrounding rural communities who made sure their voices were heard in the public comment portion of the meeting.

Many attendees were concerned with how the ten-year plan would impact rural communities because they believed moving operations to consolidate and maintain efficiency would delay rural mail service by multiple days.

Some in attendance from rural areas said that they already see slower mail service than years before and brought up concerns about getting medications in a timely manner.
