RAPID CITY, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown Post 17 would go 1-2 at Rapid City Post 320 this past weekend.
The purple and gold would take the first game of the weekend on Friday 11-5. Kale Stevenson would drop down two hits and three RBI’s, Braedon Zaug would have a two hit, two RBI afternoon and Jerod Cyrus would put down one hit and two RBI’s. Andrew Czech would throw all seven innings for 104 pitches, allowing 10 hits, five runs, and walking two.
Game two Friday would go to 320. Down 7-4, Rapid City would score four in the bottom of the 7th inning to come away with the 8-7 win. Dawson Schmidt would send in two and collect one hit in the game. Cole Holden would also send two across the plate. Jerod Cyrus would pitch five innings, throwing 97 pitches for seven hits, four runs, two walks, while fanning nine.
The final game of the weekend on Saturday would see Rapid City Post 320 get past Watertown 3-2. Schmidt would send both of the Watertown runs across the plate. Kale Stevenson would pitch six innings hurling 85 pitches for six hits, three runs, issuing one walk and tossing seven K’s.
Watertown Post 17 (4-5) comes home for Hall of Fame Weekend May 15th and 16th to face Rapid City Post 22. Game times Saturday are 5 and 7 p.m. and Sunday are 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Games will be broadcast on The Talk of Watertown 1480 KSDR with video at GoWatertown.net/Post17.
