Post 17 sweeps Sioux Falls West on senior night

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown Post 17 would sweep Sioux Falls West Tuesday night to wrap up their regular season on senior night.

Game one would be an 11-1 victory called in the sixth inning due to the 10 run rule. Dawson Schmidt, Braxton Lacher, Jerod Cyrus, and Jayden Cordell would each have two RBI’s in the game. Kale Stevenson would pitch the complete game throwing 84 pitches for five hits, one run, one walk, and six strikeouts.

Game two would be an 8-2 win over Sioux Falls West. Peyton Johnston would lead the charge with three hits and one RBI. Braxton Lacher would put down three hits and two RBI’s. Zach Hirsch would see five innings on the hill, throwing 95 pitches for three hits, two runs, six walks, and seven strikeouts. Easton Thury and Jerod Cyrus would each pitch an inning out of the bullpen.

Watertown Post 17 heads to the postseason next Tuesday night hosting a first-round opponent. Team and game times are yet to be determined. Games will be broadcast on The Talk of Watertown 1480 KSDR with video at GoWatertown.net/Post17.
