WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown Post 17 would sweep Aberdeen in legion baseball action on Tuesday.

Down 5-4 in game one, going into the bottom of the seventh inning, Watertown’s Dawnson Schmidt would put down his first hit of the night, a two RBI double to win the game for the purple and gold 6-5. Braxton Lacher would knock down two hits and one RBI, Andrew Czech had one hit and two RBI’s, Jack Heesch, Zach Hirsch, and Jerod Cyrus would each have one hit. Kale Stevenson would pitch five and two thirds innings on the hill, allowing two hits, three runs, walking four while fanning eleven. Connor Hanson would pitch and inning and a third in relief.

The bats came alive in game two for Watertown as they would down Aberdeen 12-1. Game was called in the fifth inning due to the ten run rule. Schmidt would have a three hit, two RBI night, Stevenson two hits and two RBI’s and Breadon Zaug would knock down two hits and three RBI’s. Zach Hirsch would pitch three and two thirds innings allowing two runs on one hits, issuing three walks and striking out six.

Watertown (3-3) will travel to Rapid City Post 320 for three games this weekend. Games Friday at 3 and 5 p.m. and an 11 a.m. first pitch on Saturday.
