Post 17 goes 2-2 at Dakota Classic

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown Post 17 would go 2-2 at the Dakota Classic Tournament in Sioux Falls this past weekend.
On Friday, Brandon Valley would down Watertown 10-0. Kale Stevenson took the loss on the hill as he surrendered ten runs on four hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one.
A huge fourth inning would propel Watertown to victory on Saturday over Lennox 18-10. Trailing 8-1, Post 17 would rack up seven runs in the fourth, four runs in the fifth and six runs in the seventh. Easton Thury would notch the win for Watertown as he surrendered three runs on nine hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six.
Game two on Saturday would go West Fargo as they would blank Watertown 13-0. Mason Morris took the loss on the hill for Post 17 as he went four innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out two.
Watertown would wrap up Dakota Classic play on Sunday with a 7-4 win over West Central. Braxton Lacher would notch three hits and Peyton Johnson would add two. Kade Russell notched the win on the hill, surrendering two runs on three hits over two innings, striking out two and walking one. Jerod Cyrus earned the save, recording the last three outs.
Watertown (4-4) travels back to Sioux Falls on June 16 for two games. Post 17 faces Brookings at 3:30 p.m. and Sioux Falls East at 6 p.m.
