OMAHA, N.E. (GoWatertown.net) — A hot start for Millard South was too much for Watertown Post 17 and the purple and gold would fall 11-2 in the third game from the Creighton College World Series Classic in Omaha, Nebraska.
Millard South would put up a seven-spot in the first inning and never look back. The game was called in the fifth inning due to the 10 run rule.
Kale Stevenson would lead Watertown with one hit and two RBI’s. Ben Althoff would also drop down one hit. Watertown would send four pitchers to the mound, each throwing one inning of work in the losing effort. Kade Russell would hurl 33 pitches, Cole Holden tossed 17, Breadon Zaug 18, and Jack Heesch 33.
Watertown (21-21) will face Millard West today (Friday) on day three of the Creighton World Series Classic at 5 p.m.
