Police working to determine motive of Rapid City murder suspect  (Audio)

RAPID, CITY, S.D.–Investigators are trying to piece together details of what led to the recent murder of an 82 year-old Rapid City woman in her home.

Reta McGovern was found dead with her throat slashed.

Over the weekend, police arrested 45 year-old James Jumping Eagle on murder charges. He was also wanted for failing to register as a sex offender.

Rapid City Police Department spokesman Brendyn Medina says the motive for the killing is still in question…

 

Jumping Eagle was arrested Saturday night south of Manderson on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
