WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown police were called to Watertown High School this morning after dispatchers received a 911 call of an anonymous threat.

Due to the nature of the call, the threat was deemed to NOT be credible.

As a precautionary measure, police searched the high school for any suspicous activity and found no evidence of any threat to students.

Watertown police say they’re aware of at least one other school in the state that had a similar anonymous threat about the same time. That was in Mitchell, where police received a report of an active shooter at Mitchell High School around 9:20 a.m. It was a hoax.
