WATERTOWN, S.D.—Watertown police say one person was taken to Prairie Lakes Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries following a welfare check they conducted Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were called to an apartment in the 1800-block of Westminster Avenue Northeast shortly after 3:00 p.m. on a report of a broken window, and yelling coming from an apartment.

When they got there, they found a male individual sitting on a window ledge in a second floor apartment.

After speaking with the person for some 30 minutes, the individual jumped out of the window.

They were then taken into protective custody and transported to the hospital.

The name and age of the individual were not released.
