Pickup slams into Brookings County home causing at least $150,000 damage

WHITE, S.D.–Three occupants of a pickup were taken to the Brookings hospital after the truck crashed into a home in White, South Dakota.

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office says it happened in the 400-block of North Hooker Avenue in White at 1:13 a.m Sunday.

The pickup, driven by 19 year-old Justin Granum of Brookings, was traveling at a high rate of speed when it impacted the house.

Granum and two passengers, 19 year-old Ty Lovre of Clear Lake, and 19 year-old Kiley Vanzanten of Hull Iowa, were all taken to the hospital.

Granum was arrested for DUI, Failing to Maintain Financial Responsbility, Reckless Driving, Open Container and Underage Possession of Alcohol.

There were no occupants in the home at the time of the crash.

Damage is estimated to be at least $150,000.
