WATERTOWN, S.D.–One person was seriously injured Saturday night in a pickup rollover in Codington County.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says it happened just after 11 p.m. fourteen miles north of Watertown.

The pickup was southbound on 453rd Avenue, which is a minimum maintenance road, near the intersection with 160th Street, when the driver lost control.

The pickup rolled and came to rest in a cornfield east of 453rd Avenue.

An 18 year-old girl riding in the pickup was ejected out of the vehicle, and was taken by ambulance to Prairie Lakes Hospital.

There were three other passengers, two of which had no injuries, and another that had minor injuries.

The pickup was driven by 25 year-old Jason Sowards of Henry. He was not injuried, but charges against him are pending.
