WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The Watertown Figure Skate Club made history over the weekend as Katherine Pfaff became the club’s first USFS Double Gold Medalist passing her senior moves in the field test.

Pfaff has now become a USFS Double Gold Medalist earning the Gold Medal Status in both moves in the field and solo free dance.

United States Figure Skating Gold Medalist is the highest honor bestowed upon a figure skater.  The highest achievement in each discipline is passing the senior, also called gold test. When a skater passes a gold test, he or she earns the designation as a US Figure Skating gold medalist.  Becoming a U.S. Figure Skating gold medalist is the culmination of many years of hard work and dedication to the sport.

WFSC is honored to have two gold medalists and one double gold.

Katherine is the daughter of Scott & Ann Pfaff of Watertown and is a Junior at Watertown High School.

Seven members of the Watertown Figure Skate Club Advanced Team attended the Winter Festival Competition in Omaha, Nebraska this past weekend and competed against skaters from Nebraska, Minnesota, & South Dakota. The team participated in a total of 27 events, taking home eight gold medals, seven silver medals, and three bronze medals.

Next, WFSC travels to compete in Fergus Falls, MN.
