Perkins County fire consumes estimated 7,000-8,000 acres (Audio)

BISON, S.D. – A fire burning in Perkins County is listed at approximately 8,000 acres but is 80-percent contained.
The Divide Fire was reported Monday evening west of Bison.
Fire Information Officer Shane Penfield with the Bison Fire Department says it quickly crossed Highway 20, about a mile south of the Bison Golf Course….
Penfield says no homes were lost, but some outbuildings were…
Penfield says there was no spread outside the established burn perimeter Tuesday, but smoke is expected to continue for several days.
Grand Electric Cooperative also announced that some of their customers in the fire area are without power.
