Pedestrian struck and killed on Interstate 29

COLMAN, S.D.–A 34 year-old woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle while walking on Interstate 29.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says it happened around ten o’clock Saturday night at mile marker 102, ten miles southeast of Colman in Moody County.

A vehicle driven by a 29 year-old man was southbound in the driving lane when it struck the woman who was walking in the driving lane.

The pedestrian was dead at the scene.

The man driving the vehicle and a passenger were not injured. Names have not been released.

Meanwhile authorities have identified a man killed in a single vehicle crash on Interstate 90 seven miles west of Wall.

Thirty one year-old Chad Nelson of Wasta died when the car he was driving left the interstate and rolled.
