Overweg wants more details on proposed merger of Natural Resources and Ag Department

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) — South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has proposed merging the Department of Environment and Natural Resources into
the state Ag Department and would call it the Department of Ag & Natural Resources.

Overweg says the two departments deal with different issues

Overweg says he is working on some legislative issues and possible bills

“Amendment A” which was approved by voters last month has been challenged in court. Another ballot issue approving medical marijuana may see some legislative challenges.
