WATERTOWN, S.D.–The run up in gas prices continues in Watertown, and across the country.
A number of Watertown stations pushed their prices another 20-cents a gallon higher on Friday, to $3.79 for a gallon of regular unleaded. That’s a 30-cent a gallon increase in just the past week. As of mid-morning, some Watertown stations were still priced at $3.59 a gallon.
Nationally, there’s no sign of prices backing off.
AAA Auto Club reports the nationwide average today is $3.87 a gallon.
The highest prices are in California, with a statewide average of $5.07 a gallon.
A year ago in South Dakota, the statewide average was $2.72 a gallon.
