One person killed in crash in South Dakota’s Turner County

MONROE, S.D. – One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash three miles west of Monroe, South Dakota in Turner County.

The Highway Patrol says it happened when a Freightliner truck ran a stop sign at an intersection and slammed into a northbound car.

The 26 year-old man driving the truck was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected, and died at the scene.

The 27 year-old woman driving the car sustained serious injuries, and was taken to a Sioux Falls hospital.
