Omar marries political consultant, months after affair claim

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota has married a political consultant who worked for her, months after the two were accused of having an affair.

A marriage license in Washington D.C. shows Omar married Tim Mynett on Wednesday.

Omar posted the news on her Instagram account Wednesday night with a photo of her and a bearded man smiling and displaying wedding rings. She didn’t name Mynett in the post, but the caption said, “Got married! From partners in politics to life partners.”

Omar has refused to talk about her personal life and had denied having an affair.
