ABERDEEN, S.D.–One of the first confirmed tornadoes of the year in South Dakota was reported late Saturday afternoon in the northeast corner of the state.

Vipond says it was a brief severe weather event that did not result in any damage….
Vipond says the weak tornado was likely an EF-0 on the Fujita scale.
South Dakota reports on average about three dozen confirmed tornadoes each year.
