BISMARCK, N.D.–North Dakota’s oil industry and oil regulators are trying to get a handle on oil spills caused by lightning strikes.

To that end, the Department of Mineral Resources is working on a new way of “incident reporting.” Mineral Resources director Lynn Helms briefed the state’s Industrial Commission about that.
