FARGO, N.D.– The foster parents of a 5-year-old girl who died on North Dakota’s Spirit Lake Reservation have been charged in the girl’s death.

FBI agents arrested 42-year-old Erich Longie and 45-year-old Tammy Longie following the death of Raven Thompson.

An FBI affidavit filed in U.S. District Court says first responders determined that “resuscitation was futile” when they arrived at the Longie residence on May 6th. According to the autopsy report, the girl suffered blunt force injuries to her head, neck, chest and abdomen.

The girl’s father says the Longies were the foster parents of both Raven, and her 7-year-old brother, Zane, who’s been hospitalized in Fargo.
