PIERRE, S.D.–A South Dakota House committee that’s been investigating the conduct of Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg as it relates to a fatal car-pedestrian crash in 2020 is recommending Ravnsborg NOT be impeached.
The Committee on Special Investigations voted 6-2 Monday against impeachment, as it now moves to the full House of Representatives for consideration.
Ravnsborg was driving on U.S. Highway 14 near Highmore in September 2020 when he struck and killed Joe Boever.
Months ago, Governor Kristi Noem called for Ravnsborg to resign, and she tells KWAT News she’s disappointed in the commitee’s recommendation…
Noem says when you add everything up, the outcome should be clear…
The 70-member House of Representatives will meet on April 12th to consider the committee’s recommendation to not impeach Ravnsborg.
