PIERRE, S.D.—South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem said Wednesday that she had spent a lot of time over the previous 24 hours talking to federal officials about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Her conversations included one with Dr. Anthony Fauci, who’s a leading expert on this crisis, and whose been advising President Trump throughout this process…..

The governor says the peak number of infections in South Dakota is being lowered through mitigation efforts….

South Dakota’s cumulative number of infections rose to 393 Wednesday, a jump of 73 cases from the previous day…

The governor says she’s been practicing all of the mitigation efforts she’s been asking of others.

Noem says she has not been tested for the virus, and feels great.
