WATERTOWN, S.D.—More discussion Tuesday, but in the end, no consensus on what the final design of a rebuilt section of 10th Avenue North in Watertown will look like.
City engineers and the consultant on the project have been meeting with landowners along an eight block stretch of the street, east of Prairie Lakes Hospital.
Tuesday’s discussion by city council members centered on many of the same topics—street width, driving lane width, boulevard width, and how many mature trees might have to be dug up and removed.
Public Works Director Heath Von Eye was just looking for some direction from the council…
As for the street width, Von Eye says it will be wider. How wide is still up in the air. Thirty one feet and thirty eight feet have been discussed. One traffic lane in each direction with a center turn lane….
But when the mayor asked the council if there was a consensus on a final design, she got this response from Councilman Glen Vilhauer…
And more of the same from Councilman Ried Holien…
